DESCRIPTION

Original title: Ancient prophecy of a 17th century German priest: A small country will be destroyed by everyone, but GOD will descent in it!

According to ekran.mk, the mysterious German priest, whose name is not mentioned anywhere, predicted that “Another very important, and for us especially interesting part of the prophecy, refers to a small country in southern Europe, which will be extremely important when the last days will come.” And as the title says, that small country everyone will allegedly try to destroy, but GOD will descend in it.

FACT/S

The dangers of harm and the negative impact of conspiracy theories in the modern digitalized and networked world are underestimated and are generally seen as trivial relapses and reworkings of myths and legends. Their underestimation goes so far that popular social networks, such as YouTube and Facebook, through their algorithms encourage their spread only because they bring a huge number of visits and clicks to their platforms.

Fake news of a “prophecy published in the book “Secrets of the Prophets” describing the 21st century in the most striking way, calling it the most deviant of all, spread through Serbian portals. Among those who shared this news are the common pro-Russian portals such as Kurir.rsPressonline.rsTelegraf.rs, while they state that they took the news from dnevnik.hrUnfortunately, North Macedonia was not immune either, and on July 11, 2020, the portal ekran.mk joined the propaganda.

Apart from the fact that this is an article without any evidence and that it is written bellow all standards, it is clear that this is an article that serves as a tool for propaganda and spreading false news.

It is interesting that in fact this news is quite old, so for example Telegraf.rsPressonline.rs and Kurir.rs published the news for the first time on December 17, 2014, while markukule.mk published the news on April 23, 2018. It seems that ekran.mk “missed the popularity” of this news, so they decided to recycle this old fake news.

The F2N2 team believes that although these articles have almost no journalistic solidarity and are conveyed as a dark prophecy and legend, they still target the sensitivities of readers seeking a supra-historical meaning or a supernatural context for events.
