On the social networks and the portals there appeared alleged results from the voting of the persons in home quarantine and self-isolation due to COVID-19 which was conducted on 13 July, as well as from the voting of the ill and disabled persons which was conducted today, 14 July.
This is a fake news. According to the Decree with the force of law for issues related to the elections for Members of Parliament in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia on 15 July 2020, the voting of the persons in home quarantine and self-isolation due to COVID-19 is conducted in the same manner as the voting of the ill and disabled persons. This means that the voter folds the ballot, then puts the folded ballot in an envelope that is afterwards sealed, and put in the ballot box. On Election Day, before the commencing of the voting, the envelopes are opened, and the ballots are put in the ballot box without seeing for whom the voter voted. After the end of the voting, these ballots are mixed up with the ballots from Election Day, and are counted together. Therefore, it is impossible for someone to know the results from the voting of these persons.
