Original title: THIS MEDICINE COMPLETELY KILLS THE CORONAVIRUS: A discovery of the Russian Agency for Biomedicine

On April 14, the portal Ulica.mk published a text informing that the Russian Agency for Biomedicine had discovered a drug against Coronavirus based on the drug Mefloquine, which is used to treat malaria.

FACT/S

First of all, it is worth noting that this is recycled news that is updated from time to time. Our team has already written about this “discovery”, stressing that there is still no cure for Korona virus.

World scientists at the World Health Organization (WHO) are still working to find a cure for the disease.

It is worth noting that in parallel with such still experimental efforts, there are efforts to also find a vaccine that will enable the immunization of the population.

There is no Russian doctors in the WHO team. Most are American, Italian and Chinese. This is a possible reason for the insistence of the Russian authorities to come up with a solution as soon as possible, before the WHO, but this does not mean that they have really discovered the cure.

We are witnessing that with the announcement of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, many local portals publish news in which it is claimed that Russia has already discovered the drug. These are very irresponsible claims that give the wrong impression to the public about the risk of this virus. An impression that can also contribute to an even greater spread of infection.

The World Health Organization has warned against using drugs that have not yet been shown to be effective until the right medicine is found.

Therefore, citizens should carefully check the information about pandemics and form their opinion based on reliable and verified sources.
