DESCRIPTION

The interview with a German doctor, given to the RussiaToday subsidiary in Germany about the coronavirus, is the source for three texts on Macedonian portals such as TockaRepublika and Pressing.

Tocka published a text in which they said that according to the statement of the German doctor, there are a large number of dead people in Italy due to ignorance of the doctors.

Republika publishes the version in which the doctor says that the number of patients is false because half of the tests are inaccurate.Pressing also quoted the German doctor saying that the inaccuracy of the test results was the cause of a large number of cases and that there were similar numbers of infected and deaths annually as from influenza coronaviruses.

FACT/S

There is one indisputable fact and that is that the German doctor gave the interview for RussiaToday, a medium funded and controlled by the Russian government. Al Jazeera International TV has already released a video regarding his statements, in which they explain that these are news that are under Russia’s directive. Such announcements aim to shake the confidence of the citizens in the institutions and in this case to create additional panic among the German citizens. Germany is a country severely affected by the coronavirus, but so far they are coping well with this threat, especially if you look at the death toll.

Al Jazeera’s disclosure rightly points out that the information based on the doctor’s statements is considered one-sided reporting, without taking into account the facts and guidelines of the international health institutions.
