FACT/S

The Energy Regulatory Commission operates in accordance with the Methodology (publicly available on the ERC website), which transparently predicts which elements are entering in the structure of the retail prices of oil derivatives. While making comparative analyzes of the oil derivatives prices, it is important that the comparisons are made according to the quality that is appropriate for that petroleum product, because by 2009, in our market, according to the laws and bylaws, oil products with Euro 3 and Euro 4 standard were allowed to be released oil, which are of poorer quality and the cost of processing them is cheaper, compared to today’s more environmentally-superior quality petroleum products which are sold and which are Euro 5 standard. Therefore, the parallel about the price that is most commonly done in public about diesel or gasoline in 2008 and now in 2018 is incomparable, because we are taking into consideration different products.

Compared to 15 countries in the closer and wider surrounding, our country is at the bottom of the table using together with two or three more countries using gasoline and oil with the lowest prices.

If we analyze the structure of the changes of the prices of gasoline and diesel, we will come to the conclusion that from 2011 to 2014, gasoline had a continuously higher price than today, in one period the gasoline was even up to 18% more expensive, compared to today’s prices. Even twice in 2012 and once in 2015 we had a drastic jump in one step from 10% of the price of fuels. And all this as a result of the world variations in the prices of oil derivatives.

Hence, the placement of articles whose title does not correspond with the text of the article leaves room for creating attitudes and opinions that do not correspond with reality and mislead the citizens.

They have the right and need to be properly informed about such important topics, without speculation, manipulation and false news!
