The articles that appeared these days with the title “Katica Janeva is in a coma and it is not known if, and what consequences she might get out” are a serious and malicious attack for the head of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office. The title, which is completely false, implies a severe hospital condition for Janeva, from which it is unclear will she, and how will she manage to get out.
The key word COMA is neither quoted in quotation marks so that it can be known, for example, that it is a metaphor that relates perhaps to the work of the SPP or the work of Janeva, whichever. The text, a comment, signed with a pseudonym goes deliberately with this title, as a bait for the readers, to say it bluntly, whereas for the family and friends of Janeva it is surely both a shock and a great concern.
The comment is also published by other media with the same title, without withdrawing in any way from the original text, in order to explain already in the title that the text refers to the work of Janeva and the SPP, and not to her health condition.
This way of reporting is in the least unprofessional, and it can cause legal consequences for the media that publishes it, as well as for the creator of the title.
The false title may have been inspired by the statement of the prosecutor Gavril Bubevski, who previously stated that „SPP is in a kind of an artificial coma“. That is, that the Supreme Court and the legislators, while failing to act according to the cases of the SPP, hold this prosecution in some kind of an artificial coma.
