ASNOM is being removed from the Preamble of the Constitution, the identity is lost, and the Macedonian language will be erased are only a part of the narratives that are placed on the public, and time denies them. Before and after the signing of the Prespa Agreement in 2018, the Macedonian language and identity were persistently put up for auction and in key moments their sale was “concluded”. The same narratives are repeated most often at important moments for thr Macedonian Euro-Atlantic path, thus misleading the Macedonian public.

Back in 2018, at a session of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs where the debate on amendments to the Constitution began in accordance with the Prespa Agreement to resolve the name dispute with Greece, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said that such constitutional corrections do not change the identity and it remains Macedonian. This fact can be concluded from Article 7 (paragraph 3) of the Agreement, which guarantees the Macedonian identity, as well as the right to determine ourselves as Macedonians. In addition, several excerpts from the Prespa Agreement where it is clearly and unequivocally stated that the official language and identity are and will remain Macedonian.

According to the Prespa Agreement, the term Macedonian is permanently protected and no one has the right to dispute or deny them.

But, despite the facts that are written in black and white, the theses that the identity and the language are or will be lost have been persistently placed on the Macedonian media air.

The Macedonian language and identity are lost: It is not true that the Macedonian identity and language are preserved, we lost those rights with Zaev’s shameful agreement.

After the Prespa Agreement was signed and ratified, narratives of lost language and identity gradually subsided. In a short time, they are reactivated due to the current dispute between N. Macedonia and Bulgaria. The machine for disinformation and creating a false image is on again. The fake narrative has been reactivated by the following portals: Infomax.mkLider.com.mkVecer.mkKurir.mkNetpress.com.mkRepublika.mk.

The government behind closed doors destroys the Macedonian identity, by giving up history, Goce Delchev and the language

“Confirmation directly from Brussels: Zaev sold the language, history and Goce Delchev”

“Concrete of Zaev’s identity is Cracked BEFORE THE BULGARIAN APPETITES”

“After selling everything, Zaev will accept that the Macedonian language is artificial”

“Macedonian wire lost, red lines are torn: Macedonia also gives up and language?”

Prime Minister Zaev, but also the people from the top of the government who are directly involved in the process, in their statements emphasize the fact that the Macedonian language and identity are not on the negotiating table because nowhere in the world are negotiated for identity and mother tongue.

“Zaev: As long as Macedonians exist, the Macedonian language will exist”

“The Macedonian language and identity are not on the table for negotiations, says the Prime Minister”

“We are not stepping down from the identity and the language, Pendarovski and Zaev say

That Bulgaria by signing the Good Neighbor Agreement confirmed the recognition of the Macedonian language can be concluded from the last paragraph of the agreement which reads:

The President of the country, Stevo Pendarovski, stressed that the position of the country is clear and that there is no deviation from the identity and language.

“We will repeat our red line. Do not ask us what others think, ask us about our position, and it is clear. There were no negotiations on identity and language in the negotiations for the Prespa Agreement either. We will not deviate from our positions. These are our views and we will unreservedly defend them.”

The fact that the same media outlets promote identical disinformative narratives connected to key events for the euro-integration of North Macedonia, which suggests that we are talking about an organized and coordinated action, with the goal to instigate distrust in the institutions and process as well as the Europan Union. This kind of disinformative narratives aid to the strengthening of the anti western sentiments in the community, situation which works on behalf of Russia.
