Original title of the article: Conviction of the attack on the team of TV21, sanctions of the perpetrators without delay
On April 17, 2019, the Macedonian Association of Journalists (MAN), through a press release issued by several media, reacted with a conviction for the attack on the team of TV21, to sanction the perpetrators without delay.
This notification would not be disputable, but in the continuation of the announcement, an unconfirmed information entails: Threats, attacks and pressures are rising day by day. The Macedonian Association of Journalists, together with the EFJ and the IFJ, are practicing an enforced monitoring of the state of the media in the country, especially during the election processes, when journalists’ teams are often a target of attacks, threats and violence by political activists.
Referring to these organizations, MAN wants to point out on its credibility as a journalistic association, which is recognized by journalistic associations outside of Northern Macedonia.

In this case, it is a classic disinformation, since MAN has never been part, nor has cooperation with international federations of journalists.
This disinformation was promptly denied by the European Federation of Journalists. The General Secretary of the European Federation of Journalists, Ricardo Gutierrez, on his Twitter account on April 18, 2019, denied the announcement of the notice of MAN. He stressed that the European federations, from the journalistic associations in the country, cooperate only with the AJM and the Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers.
