Only a few days before Ilinden, the biggest national holiday, a Facebook profile with the name Christian Jandrioski posted a post that is a disinformation related to the singing of the anthem on the occasion of the holiday. Here we show you the entire text:
This is Marko. He was invited by the organizing board to sing the anthem on the occasion of Ilinden on the celebration in the heroic village of Smilevo. However, there was one additional requirement. Namely, due to the presence of the Bulgarian delegation at the event, Marko was asked not to sing the verse mentioning the names of Goce Delchev, Pitu Guli, Dame Gruev and Sandanski.
At this point, for Marko the conversation was finished, he told them to look for another singer, because he would not sing such an anthem.
Oh, Marko, oh, Marko…
You big Macedonian child…
Blessed be the milk that fed you, you hero.
May you live long and in good health!
Without any evidence for this, the author of the post says that Marko was asked to sing the anthem but omit the verse mentioning the names of Goce Delchev, Pitu Guli, Dame Gruev and Jane Sandanski due to the presence of the Bulgarian delegation.
Up till the time of writing of this article, the disinformation has 4700 emotions, 73 comments and 606 shares. These figures make it clear that the disinformation has unfortunately deceived a large number of Facebook users.
The disinformation was officially denied by the Municipality of Demir Hisar, the municipality of the famous village of Smilevo. Here is a part of their disclaimer: The anthem will be performed in its official and full version. We invite the citizens to come so together we can show that we are stronger than all those who violate our tradition and our sacred holiday Ilinden with such malicious disinformation.
Unlike the spread of the disinformation, the official denial of the false news is not transmitted on the social networks and portals that transmitted the fake news.
The anthem has been a subject to disinformation in the past period. Starting with the alleged change of the anthem with the Prespa Agreement, the noninterpretation during the visit of the former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, the misinterpretation by Tamara Todevska, until today with the alleged request by the organizers to omit part of the anthem.
The anthem of the Republic of North Macedonia cannot be performed in any other way than that determined by the law.
Portals that transmitted this disinformation are:: Markukule, Signal, Express, Vecer, Skopje1, Republika, DokazМ, Infomax, 365, Kurir (on the portal Kurir the post has been deleted for reasons that are unknown to us).
