Various posts on social media about the “harmfulness” of installing the “Stop Corona” application, which was promoted by the government in the fight against the spread of coronavirus, can be seen on social networks. In various appeals not to install the application, no specific argument is given about what is harmful in installing it. Only superficial theses are put forward that people will be followed by the installation of micro-chips, but no arguments are given as to how this is possible and on which basis they claim that this is indeed the case.
One of the sources of such news, which writes against the attempts of the governments to develop an application that will help the health institutions and the citizens themselves against the coronavirus, is the portal Sputnik.
In its text, Sputnik quotes a Belgian doctor Thierry Schmitz claiming that the Bill Gates Foundation is funding seven vaccine projects, including the introduction of nano-chips into the human body. Such claims were refuted by Reuters by checking the facts, and you can read more about it on the following link.
Meanwhile, official European Union documents on coronavirus applications used across European countries state that as much data as possible should be stored on the user’s device rather than on a central server to best maintain individual privacy.
As Euractiv writes, the European Union, which has one of the most strict data protection rules in the world, aiming to ensure that such systems do not compromise privacy by allowing unauthorized access to sensitive data.
Vera Jourova, who is the Vice President of the Commission, said: “Adherence to EU rules on data protection will help ensure that our privacy and fundamental rights are respected and that the European approach is transparent and proportionate.”
The document recommends a decentralized approach to data storage, compared to the methods used in Asian countries, where most data is stored on a centralized server.
“The Commission recommends that data should be stored on an individual’s terminal device. Given that data is stored on a central server, the access, including the administrative access, should be by login”, is said in the document, among others.
In our country, the creator of the application, “Stop Corona”, Nextsense, guarantees that privacy is fully protected.
“I responsibly claim that the application guarantees full privacy protection. It does not follow the contacts in any way, it does not use the location, or the name and surname of those who use the application”, declared Sasa Gavrilovic from Nextsense for Sloboden Pecat.
This is just another case in which the system and the fight against coronavirus are tendentiously undermined. All this is done through manipulations that create an additional feeling of insecurity, dissatisfaction and mistrust in the system among the citizens.
