Original title: THE NUDE PHOTOS BROUGHT HER IN THE GOVERNMENT: THE EXPLICIT ANA MARIJA IS AN ADVISER TO NINA “GROUPER”

Inappropriate communication full of humiliation and sexism towards women, started immediately after the announcement of the Minister of Finance’s team.

The online portal Magazin.mk followed the examples of the portals vistina.com.mk and expres.mk, for which the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights has already reacted about with complaints to the Ethics Council on the grounds of sex and gender harassment.

“The adviser to the new Minister of Finance is a former influencer. After Nina Angelovska chose her councilor, the Twitter community immediately began to react. They even sent a message to young people that they do not need to study, but to take photos of themselves, because posting on social networks still has benefits and leads you to the cabinet of the Minister of Finance. ”

FACT/S

The published text is an unprofessional attempt to discredit and is full of stereotypes and misogyny. With this article, the portal contributes to creating an atmosphere that belittles the role of women.

According to Article 10 of the Journalists’ Code”A journalist will not knowingly create or process information that endangers human rights or freedoms, will not speak the language of hatred and will not incite violence and discrimination on any grounds (national, religious, racial, gender, social, lingual, sexual orientation, political…)”

The media, including portals, must understand the serious and responsible role they play in society. They must not be a source of harassment and public discredit.

Unfortunately, not even the reaction of the Helsinki Committee awoke the professionalism and responsibility that Magazine.mk as a medium should nurture and build.

“Instead of fighting discrimination and negative phenomena in the public discourse, they directly contribute to creating an atmosphere that mocks women’s participation in public life and women in general. Such reporting creates a hostile and humiliating environment for all women.

By commenting on her physical appearance in order to discredit her professionalism, they discriminate against all women by downplaying their working abilities.

We strongly condemn such reports and the creation of articles and statements that put women in a subordinate position and violate the principle of equality between men and women.” the Helsinki Committee pointed out in their speech and submitted a request to the Commission for Prevention and Protection against Discrimination to initiate a procedure.

Earlier, ZNM had already condemned the journalist Ljupco Zlatev’s post on the social media for the prosecutor Fetai.

“Journalists have a much greater responsibility towards the public every time they speak, whether it be through the media or social media. Hence the post of the journalist Ljupco Zlatev posted on the social network Facebook saying that Prosecutor Fetai “will not even be able to drink out of sorrow, because women are beaten there in Bogovinje for drinking…”, can be considered to incite discrimination and intolerance on the basis of sex and nationality or ethnicity.”- ZNM points out.

The media should follow the public interest. But they must meet the standards of their profession and accept the responsibility they have in carrying out their tasks.
