Original title: АА: The Government of Norway has launched an investigation into the misuse of money by Teuta Arifi
On July 17, 2019, part of the media published news with speculation in the title itself, according to which the Government of Norway has launched an investigation into the misuse of money by Teuta Arifi. This news spread on the media after the press conference of the Tetovo branch of the Alliance of Albanians.
This news is a clickbait. There is a speculation in the title, to which the media refers in the statement from the press conference of the Alliance of Albanians. But at the press conference, the party makes accusations about the soil pollution, not for the misuse of money from the Government of Norway for which the investigation has begun.
The actual situation is that on 17.07.2019 the Deputy Prime Minister Bujar Osmani, the Mayor of Tetovo, Teuta Arifi and Gir Johannesen, the first Secretary of the Embassy in Norway were on field visit near the village of Falishe. Here the old Tetovo landfill is being cleaned. After the cleaning is over, the construction of a wastewater treatment plant for the Tetovo region will begin.
The cleaning of the terrain and its preparation, is financially supported by the Government and the Municipality of Tetovo, and the waste transportation is financed by Norway as part of the project “Nordic Support for the Progress of North Macedonia”. For the realization of this activity, Norway allocates 700.000 euros.
