Some media outlets in our country have recently been searching for news that would throw a stain on Bill Gates and his efforts to prevent the spread of numerous diseases around the world by vaccinating the population. Such news is becoming more common at a time when the world is facing a coronavirus pandemic.
The portal Popara.mk on April 25, 2020, published the news with the headline: SCANDAL: NONE OF BILL GATES’ THREE CHILDREN HAVE BEEN VACCINATED!!!
First of all, this is news that was first published on February 07, 2018, on the portal yournewswire.com. This is a site that is known for publishing fake news, while the Institute for Media Studies “Poynter” has declared it “one of the most infamous disinformator on the Internet”.
The text says that the private doctor of Bill Gates’ family, without saying his name, said at a symposium in Seattle, which was held behind closed doors, that: Bill Gates did not allow the vaccination of any of his three children, with the excuse that “they are fine the way they are, they don’t need vaccines”. The date of the symposium is not stated. Furthermore, no other evidence has been given to support such claims.
On February 22, 2018, Bill Gates’ wife, Melinda Gates, wrote on Instagram that more than 800,000 children had died from rotavirus, a disease that is curable and preventable, at the time when their first son, Yen, was born.
“It broke my heart seeing your child get sick and knowing that medicine can save him, only if he can get it. It was a clarifying moment for me. No child should die from a disease that can be prevented. Bill and I have dedicated our lives to reducing the number of such cases.”
As for the claims that the children of the Gates family have not been vaccinated, Melinda Gates, on April 19, 2019, wrote on the social network Facebook that all three of their children have been vaccinated.
“All three of my children have been completely vaccinated. The vaccine works. And when fewer people decide to take them, then we all become more vulnerable to diseases,” Melinda Gates wrote.
Bill and Melinda Gates have so far spent billions of dollars researching, developing, and delivering vaccines for children around the world. Their goal is to “prevent more than 11 million deaths, 3.9 million cases of disability, and 264 million diseases by 2020.”
Bill and Melinda have three children born in 1996, 1999 and 2002.
This is an obvious example of false news being transmitted from a dubious source that uses half-truths to make the lie seem true.
