Original title: MEASLES EPIDEMIC, FILIPCE OFFERED HIS RESIGNATION TO ZAEV, DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF VICTIMS
On April 13 a fake news appeared saying that the Minister of Health, Venko Filipce, offered his resignation to the Prime Minister Zaev. “After yesterday’s tragedy in which the woman from Stip lost her unborn child in her sixth month of pregnancy, as a consequence of measles epidemic, the Minister Filipce spoke with the Prime Minister Zaev and offered his resignation out of moral reasons.”

The news on the resignation of Filipce is a classical fake news. “The news” is put in a context of a deceased patient, which aims at causing an extended effect – inciting emotions among people, confusing the public with the alleged resignation – of course in expectation of a denial.
The same day, “the news” on the resignation was denied on the FB profile of the Minister Venko Filipce. Yet, it provoked further debates whether he should have resigned or not.
Health of the children is of exceptional importance for each parent. Therefore, all information related to measles epidemic and vaccination are far too important and sensitive to be misused for inciting mistrust in the institutions.
The citizens have the right and should be properly informed on such important topics, without speculations, manipulations and fake news!
