Namely, the article states that “sharp reactions and comments” are shared on the social networks following the appearance of a photo in which the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, represented our country at 183 regular meetings of the NATO Military Committee as “MK SKOPJE MOD”. In addition to the text, a Twitter post was published with the image of Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, with the marking “MK SKOPJE MOD”.

This is a classic manipulation. The author of the text transmits a post on social media, and presents it as a reaction of the general public. At the 183rd regular session of the NATO Military Committee for the first time, the Republic of North Macedonia participates as a full member of NATO. The controversial photo circulating on the social media is taken from the official NATO website.
In the case of such official representations of the state, it is necessary to request an official statement from the competent institutions before publishing anything. In the official statement of the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, sent to Alpha TV, the following is stated:
The official NATO website has published photos and videos from the meeting of the Military Committee, as well as a video from the press conference held after the meeting. As can be seen, the names of the countries in red are marked by NATO.
That the constitutional name was used throughout the conference, the Republic of North Macedonia, in addition to the statement of the General Staff, is also confirmed by the photo published on the official website of NATO. The same photo was published on the website and the official Facebook profile of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.
What should be remembered is that in NATO we are under the constitutional name – the Republic of North Macedonia. At the press conference held after the meeting, held by the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Chief Marshal Stewart Pitch, greeted our country with its constitutional name from the very beginning.
