Are the journalists serious or do they only want to amuse the public?!

The portal “Sloboden Pecat” publishes an article with the abovementioned title, which states that a chocolate box Camila appeared in the products palette of the trade network in Serbia, with a product declaration saying that it was an import from Kosovo. The disinformation, the part that F2N2 was interested in, is that things are even worse because the chocolate bars in the box are distributed in the shape of “Greater Albania”, which is a provocation for the citizens of Serbia, as witnessed by a visibly disappointed citizen who allegedly bought the chocolate box without reading the product declaration. The authorities, analysts and representatives of the Consumer Association, who say this product must be removed from the shelves as quickly as possible, have reacted strongly to this, according to a report released by “Sloboden Pecat”.

The portal “Sloboden Pecat” publishes a disinformation probably taken from a Serbian portal, but unfortunately does not state the author of the article, nor the source of the information. It was immediately followed by posts of the same disinformation with different titles. The disinformation that is spread in our country is taken from the Serbian portal kurir.rs and published by the following portals: RepublikaInfomaxNetpressVecerPressingtvVesnikKurirLider.

The content of the articles does not consist of any evidence of either the product declaration or the chocolates being distributed in the shape of “Greater Albania”, which is a seemingly ridiculous and frivolous fabrication in order to provoke unnecessary provocation and ethnic intolerance in the Republic of Serbia, and this disinformation has had the same effect on the Macedonian public, because the same disinformation narrative about “Greater Albania” is present in our country as well.

The portal “Sloboden Pecat” the next day announces the denial by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Serbia, Ljajic in a statement given to Sputnik (later deleted) in which he says they are not aware of such chocolate box, nor did the inspection record it.

The Serbian portal novosti.rs wrote of the fact there are no chocolate bars in the shape of “Greater Albania” for real on 19.11.2019, which a day before this, published the same disinformation, and the source is the consumer protector who is anonymous in this case. Where it came from and who created this disinformation, we cannot say for sure, but we learn from the text of Novosti.rs that it is completely untrue: “We discover THE REAL TRUTH about the chocolate bars in the shape of “Greater Albania” that aggravated Serbia”. According to their article, a Turkish company that has its own factory in the vicinity of Prizren stands behind the candy factory Camila. According to the president of the National Organization for Consumer Protection of Serbia, Goran Popovic, this story is a year and a half old, and since they’ve heard about it, no one has ever seen that chocolate box. At the same time, they urge the consumer who has seen and bought it, to present it to them, together with the fiscal receipt as a proof so that they can act institutionally. He also clarifies that the supplier (in this case the Turkish company) is responsible for the declaration, so it should not be stated that the import is from Kosovo and that this is the smallest problem, while as for the shape of “Greater Albania”, he says that it makes no sense.

Conclusion:
Without going into the analysis of who stands behind such disinformation in neighboring Serbia, it is obvious that the disinformation is intended to continually infiltrate and foster ethnic intolerance among the various communities living in the Balkans. Such narratives targeting different ethnic communities are nothing new to the Balkans, and it is not a new fact that they are transmitted from one country to another. It is for this reason that governments in the region have a greater responsibility than just denying such “news”.
